Setting goals and making plans.

 My journal prompt for today (I have just started journaling in the mornings) asked if I was committed to my goals. I can genuinely say that I am not. I don't even know if I have goals. 

I have never made a habit of setting goals, nor of making long-term plans. I suppose that a part of me felt that doing so was a bit futile. After all, how can you plan something if you cannot control all the variables? Who knows what is going to happen. I mean, you could spend 2 years saving money and planning to travel for a year only to have a pandemic come along and void your plan.  

So does that mean that setting goals and making long-term plans is not valuable? No, of course not. It just means that sometimes plans and goals will need to be adjusted.  That is the part that I need to remember and work on.
